Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the options for the SKII™ Tibial Bearings?
The SKII™ system offers two tibial bearing options: Standard (PS) and PLUS (PS+). The Standard PS bearing features no varus/valgus constraint with 15 degrees of internal/external rotation, while the PS+ Constrained bearing provides 2 degrees of varus/valgus constraint and +/-2 degrees of internal/external rotation.
When is the SKII™ PS+ Constrained Tibial Bearing recommended?
The PS+ bearing is recommended for primary joint situations when higher stability and initial constraints are desired to resist rotation and varus/valgus lift-off.
What materials are used in the construction of the SKII™ Total Knee System?
The SKII™ Femoral Condyle and Tibial Tray are constructed from durable Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum (CoCrMo) alloy. The Tibial Bearings are made from high-quality Germany Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE).
How does the SKII™ system accommodate different types of tibial bone defects?
The system features a Same Platform Design that accommodates normal primary TKA, complex primary TKA (using tibial augments and stems to protect defects), and severe tibial defects (utilizing tibial cones and stems to reinforce fixation).
What sizing specifications are available for the SKII™ Tibial Tray?
The SKII™ Tibial Tray is available in seven different sizes (1# to 7#), with A/P dimensions ranging from 38mm to 53mm and M/L dimensions ranging from 59mm to 83mm to ensure a precise anatomical fit.
