1. 2° Tapered Design
The RSL Revision Femoral Stem features a 2° tapered cone-shaped stem. In terms of long-term stability, a tapered stem tends to integrate better with the proximal femur than a cylindrical one, thus reducing the chances of stem loosening and postoperative thigh pain. In a study published in "The Journal of Arthroplasty," Robert D. Russell noted that in cases with significant bone loss of only 3cm in the femoral diaphysis, the 2° tapered stem exhibited superior initial fixation stability compared to a cylindrical stem.
2. 8 Longitudinal Ridges Design
The sharp 8 longitudinal ridges anchor close to 0.1-0.5 mm within the cortical bone, providing reliable anti-rotation stability.
There's a space between each ridge, promoting vascular regeneration within the cancellous bone, and expediting marrow cavity reconstruction.
For the same outer diameter, the design with 8 ridges can reduce stem thickness, thereby lowering stiffness and preventing stress shielding-induced loosening and thigh pain.

3. Integrated Rough Surface
The integrated design eliminates the risk of junctional fractures. The rough surface gap allows for bone ingrowth, and the resulting microstructure affects mechanical conduction, creating a discontinuous load transfer effect to encourage bone integration.
4. Circular Cross-Section Design
The RSL stem has an overall conical shape, resulting in a circular cross-section. This allows for adjusting the anteversion angle during surgery, facilitating physician maneuverability and aligning the patient's physiological force line.
The conical shape of the stem eliminates edges, reducing the risk of intraoperative or postoperative bone fractures caused by stress concentration around the stem's periphery.
